Short introduction
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, also called “Kalle”, is a soccer player from 1974 to 1989. He was registered several times in the rank of the world’s best players and won several titles with FC Bayern as a European Cup winner or as the national winner of the National Champion European Cup. “Kalle” also left his footsteps on the national team as deputy champion twice and European champions. His passion for football can still be seen in his role as Chair of FC Bayern Munich.
Earlier life
Karl Heinz Rummenigge was born on September 25, 1955 in Lippstadt in North Rhine-Westphalia. Career
In 1974, when Rummenigge was 18 years old, the young man turned to FC Bayern Munich and broke his apprentice as a banker for this dream. In 1980 he was the top scorer with 26 goals and in the same year he was named the German and European soccer player. In 1984 he joined Inter Milan in hopes of achieving similar success in Serie A as in the previous Bundesliga. However, the success was lacking because of several injuries in three years spent by Rummenigge at Inter Milan. His career path which further took him to Servette Geneva in Switzerland, where he ended his career two years later, at the age of 33. In the same year he became the top scorer with 24 goals. Rummenigge scored 162 goals in 310 Bundesliga matches.
In 1975, at the age of 19, he had played in Jersey from the German national team. In 1978 he played for a world title. 2 years later, he won the European Cup in the national team dress. Rummenigge personally directs assistance for the purpose of the decisive victory to Horst Hrubesch, who chose the team with a score of 2: 1 to the European champions.
In 1981 “Kalle” was declared the captain of the national team team. In 1986, after losing the World Cup match against Maradona and his team, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge ended his career in the national team.
