Fast Food Company Wendy plans to open several hundred new kitchens in several countries that will only accept online orders. Unlike the existing Wendy’s stores, you will need to use on-demand food applications for orders from these new locations.
Delivery of food on demand was a rare convenience available only in pizza shops and, in the case of very large cities, MOM-MOM-and-POP stores. Consumers who live near one of these kitchens can place an online order, which is then prepared on site and delivered to the customer. Wendy’s is the last company to board this change in the food industry.
According to the associated press, Wendy will open 700 from these kitchens over the next few years in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The delivery kitchens that only one will focus more on large cities where workouts through are usually lower figures.
The first 50 of these new stores only deliveries will be open in 2021 and take advantage of existing food delivery platforms like Doordash and Uber Eat to serve customers. Wendy’s is not the first fast food business to embrace the digital world – many like Taco Bell have launched mobile and web applications to get online orders before arriving at the restaurant.
